Tangopura is proud to present two special seminars with Carlos Churri Lee (Seoul/Buenos Aires), in conjunction with the upcoming Tango Para Todos in May.
Carlos is one of the most popular DJ in Korea & Asia since his return from Buenos Aires in 2009, where he had been living for more than five years. During his criollo’s life, he studied tango history at “CETBA” & “Academia Nacional del Tango” for three years. In addition, he used to play music at the milonga “Lujos”, known as Maipu 444 on Sundays, a very traditional milonga in Buenos Aires. Since 2010 he runs a Tango Club “Ataniche” in Seoul. and has been playing music for numerous Local & International Tango Festivals.
[DJ1] DJ Seminar with Tango DJ Carlos Churri Lee
In the first hour, DJ Carlos Churri Lee will share his philosophy, approach, strategy, wisdom, etc. of Tango DJ’ing, garnered from his three years of study at CETBA & Academia Nacional del Tango in Buenos Aires and his more recent years of DJ’ing in Buenos Aires, Seoul and around Asia. In the second hour, Carlos will open up to Q&A from the floor.
Who is this suitable for? All present DJs, aspiring DJs and all those curious about the craft of DJ’ing are welcome.

[DJ2] Dance Musicality Seminar with Tango DJ Carlos Churri Lee
How can tangueros and tangueras express the musicality of various tango orquestas? In this session, DJ Carlos Churri Lee will take us on a tour of what to listen to in some of the most distinctive tango orquestas such as D’Arienzo-Biagi (30’s with fast one), Carlos DiSarli (50s with Singer), Osvaldo Pugliese (50s) and Francisco Canaro (30s with different feel), and how we can express that musicality in our dance. The session will be highly interactive, with Carlos first sharing with us what to listen to in a given orquesta, then playing some iconic songs that we can try dancing to, then moving on to the next orquesta.
Who is this suitable for? Tango dancers of all levels. Highly recommended to Beginner Tango dancers as well as dancers who want to better appreciate the wonder world of Tango music.

DJ Carlos will play tandas from the orquestas discussed in the earlier dance musicality seminar, and will be on hand to give advice, suggestions, etc. on how tangueros and tangueras can express the musicality of their dance.
