The team at Tangopura is happy to be hosting Tomas Corbalan y Yamila Ivonne (Argentina), who will be in Singapore from 18-23 Feb 2016.
Tomas will be conducting six group workshops (open to all levels) at Tangopura.
Making your dance healthier. Posture, point of contacts, deeper connection. (Friday, 19 Feb, 8.00pm – 9.30pm)
The first workshop is all about learning how to make your dance more enjoyable through better posture, improved point of contacts and learning how to establish a better connection with your partner.
How to make the dance effortless, Saturday 20 Feb, 2.00pm – 3.30pm)
We look at how to flow effortlessly with your partner. In particular, we will explore various movements like linear, circular, change of directions and making good use of the pivots.
Making the dance healthier (Saturday, 20 Feb, 3.30pm – 5.00pm)
Dancers often find themselves stuck in repetitive dance figures. This workshop aims to develop the minds of the dancers. We will focus on how to expect the unexpected and finding inspirations from everything.
Are we listening? What, who, when and how? (Sunday, 21 Feb, 2.00pm – 3.30pm)
For this workshop, we investigate the music on a deeper level; What are we listening for? When should we execute a particular move? How to execute the moves at the right time? Understand what the other person is listening to?
How to move better in small spaces and close embrace (Sunday, 21 Feb, 3.30pm – 5.00pm)
Good navigation is key to great dancing. We will explore movements optimised for dancing in small spaces and also learn to adjust our embrace accordingly to suit the energy.
The Silences (Monday, 22 Feb, 8.00pm – 9.30pm)
This workshop will show all the different meanings of ‘silences’ and its benefit. This is a very popular workshop by Tomas y Yamila in Buenos Aires and New York. It is highly recommended!
